UAL: Technological and Materials Research: Old & New Media, When Worlds Collide

Posted on Posted in UAL

I gave a talk at Camberwell College of Arts’ Post Grad Research day on Wednesday 19th June on the use of Tablet devices for digital making to ~70 Students, Researchers, Professors and Technicians:

The day was very interesting with an emphasis on the collision between traditional and new forms of making. I had the pleasure of having lunch with a very interesting sculptor – http://www.brucegernand.com who has been working at the intersection between Digital Printing techniques (or Additive Manufacture as it is properly known) and traditional craft with plaster, bronze etc. His coded Chimera works blend animal shapes into new evolved forms such as this cat / crocodile hybrid: http://www.brucegernand.com/project10m.php
